Community leaders, nonprofit organizations, and individuals interested in strengthening their ability to secure funding are invited to attend a Capacity Building Through Grant Writing Workshop + Lunch scheduled for April 14 in McGehee.
The workshop will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the McGehee Municipal Building, located at 901 Holly Street. The event is designed to help nonprofit and community-based organizations improve their grant writing skills and learn strategies for identifying and securing funding opportunities.
The session will be led by Dr. Hunter P. Goodman, assistant professor in Community, Workforce and Economic Development with the University of Arkansas System Division of Agriculture Research and Extension. Goodman will present on the topic “Tools, Sources, and Partnerships,” focusing on practical techniques that organizations can use to locate funding sources, strengthen partnerships, and develop more competitive grant proposals.
Grant funding plays an important role in supporting programs that benefit local communities. This workshop aims to provide participants with the knowledge and resources needed to build stronger proposals and expand the impact of their organizations.
The workshop is hosted by the Desha County Extension Office, part of the University of Arkansas System Division of Agriculture, which works to provide educational programs and resources that support community growth and development across Arkansas.
