Delta Memorial Hospital CEO Jeremy Capps presented the program for the Dumas Chamber of Commerce meeting Tuesday, July 11, 2023.
Capps introduced LCSW, Melissa Cochran. Cochran joined the Delta Memorial Staff in January of 2023 where she provides therapy for patients, and frequently visits the Swing Bed program at the hospital. Capps also mentioned that Delta Memorial Hospital is one of the few southwest Arkansas hospitals that delivers babies, and he is proud of the unit. Delta Memorial Hospital has new protocols that help patients who are battling addictions. “What we do now is we have certain protocols that help these patients in three days medically wean down from their dependency, to the point where they're able to go to residential places like New Beginnings or Arm 180 to continue their treatment,” said Capps.
There are two surgeons who come from Jefferson County who provide surgeries at Delta Memorial Hospital, according to Capps. He also said they were here on contracts originally to perform scopes, but since then they have fallen in love with Delta Memorial Hospital and have now expanded the types of surgeries performed at the hospital.
