The Desha County Salvation Army buckets will soon be seen in Dumas at areas stores from December 1-15, 2023.
Bell ringers herald the season's calling to offer assistance to the less fortunate in Desha County. All donations received in the kettles stay in Desha County to help with rent, utilities, food, and other human needs.
Jason Martin, McGehee Salvation Army Manager, operates the Salvation Amy store in McGehee. He emphasizes that it is our desire to offer help to more and more people each year. Thus, they are hoping to raise $10,000 in 2023.
The schedule for red kettles and bell ringers will be: December 110:00 to 4:00 at Mad Butcher: December 2 10:00 to 4:00 Piggly Wiggly: December 7 Pickens Store 10:30 to 12:30: December 8 Dollar General 10:00 to 4:00; December 9 Mad Butcher 10:00 to 4:00; December 15 Piggly Wiggly 10:00 to 4:00; December 16 Dollar General.
