AMNESTY MONTH
APRIL 2024
During the Month of April, if you have a Desha County Misdemeanor Warrant for your arrest, or if you owe old fines that you have struggled to stay current on, you may bring a non-perishable food item to the District Court in which you owe the fines, or have the warrant, and you WILL NOT be arrested. You will be served with the warrant, and given a new court date, so that you can get things right with the court. Life gets very difficult at times, and we want to help you get caught up so you’re not looking over your shoulder because you have a warrant for your arrest. If you need to call and confirm if you have an active warrant, you may contact the Dumas District Court at 870.382.6972 or the McGehee District Court at 870.222.3859. This is for Desha County misdemeanor warrants and fines only. Just bring a canned food item by and get a new court date. No jail, no bond, no warrant fee….just a new court date and chance to get on a new path.
All food items collected will be redistributed to under privileged families in our County.
