The Dumas Christmas Parade saw an increase in more than the number of parade participants, but also a crowd lining Waterman Street and continuing up Main Street.
The theme Hometown Christmas showed what Christmas meant with over 48 participating entries of 16 floats, 12 cars and trucks, 7 ATV/SXS, around 6 walking and 7 others including the Dumas Police Department, a sling shot vehicle, a lite up tractor, 2 motorcycles and Ava and Ahnesti Allen riding in a small jeep.
The winners of the parade 1st Place Overall Dumas Family Pharmacy. 1st Place Float: Harrison Float. 1st Place Care/Truck: Los 3 Carnales. 1st Place Other Ava and Ahnesti Allen. 1st Place walking Street Mentors of Dumas. 1st Place SXS/ATV Monsters of the South.
The Judy Day, of the Dumas Chamber of Commerce, Patricia Powell with DHS EAST Lab, DHS Student Makayla Gilbreth, nad Desaraea Wilson and Rick Reyes of the Monsters of the South worked as a group to make the parade possible. The Monsters of the South volunteered their time to collect parade entries. The Dumas C of C, the Parade Committee and DHS EAST Lab hosted the parade.
Day described the parade as a success and recognized the work of Monsters of the South, Dezarae Wilson and others with making it a success.
