Tropical Depression Nicholas is bringing the risk of flooding to us as the center of the storm slowly crawls east-northeast into Southwest Louisiana.
Nicholas is now a tropical depression with sustained winds of 30 mph. The center of the storm is in far southeast Texas and is crawling east at 3 mph.
It will continue to weaken as it stays over land.
Bands of rain, heavy at times, will continue to sweep across Southeast Louisiana today and tomorrow. This is creating a flooding threat as well as an isolated tornado threat.
When all is said and done, rainfall totals for the week could be up to 10 inches for parts of Southeast Louisiana.
Nicholas originally made landfall at 12:30am Tuesday morning on Matagorda Peninsula, TX, as a category 1 hurricane with sustained winds of 75 mph.
