Alvie Lay 82 a life time resident of Dumas (Lincoln County area Garrett Bridge) Arkansas passed away July 6, 2021 at his home. He was born the son of Rex and Letha Arnold Lay on August 25, 1938 in Lincoln County. His parents, brothers, William and Rex, JR (Cub) Lay and sister Mary Mallard all preceded him in death.
Alvie lived at Garrett Bridge with the love of his life Gloria, where he enjoyed raising cows and horses and loved spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Alvie was employed by Dumas Public Schools where he taught at Dumas High School for 28 years. From 1958 -1961 he served in the United States Army. He and Gloria married in Lake Village on April 9, 1960.
Survivors are his loving wife Gloria Lay of Dumas, Arkansas one son Randy Lay and wife Michelle of Dumas, Arkansas and one daughter Robin Harrison and husband Jeff of Crossett, Arkansas and four grandchildren Austin, Allison, Anna and Lillian, one great granddaughter Layton.
Graveside services held at 10 am on Thursday, July 8, 2021, at Tyro Cemetery with Rev. Monta Kellebrew officiating.
