Ina Grace Burke joined the souls departed on Tuesday, October 5, 2021, at the age of 87 in Dumas, Arkansas. Ina was born on February 26, 1934, in Briggsville, Arkansas.
The oldest among five children of the late Ezell and Essie Sexton, she spent most of her childhood in Yell County or the “The Hills” as often referred to by her family.
In 1943, her family moved to the Delta, and some years later she met Ira Burke. They married in December 1951 and lived in Florence and Dumas for 63 years before Ira died in 2014.
Also preceding her death was a son, Steve A. Burke, and an infant daughter.
Ina spent most of her years as a homemaker but did spend some time in the workforce at Sunbeam and Cotton Classing.
She was passionate about her family, especially her grandchildren. She often enjoyed having coffee with friends, gardening beautiful daylilies, and antiquing for almost anything.
She is survived by her children and their spouses, Glenda Owen (Dennis) and Mike Burke (Pam) all of Dumas, three grandchildren-Misty Morgan (Ryan) of Monticello, Denise Cox (Jason) of Bartlett, TN, and Michael Burke (Megan) of Benton, six great grandchildren-Mason, Kate, Ailey, Jae, Addison, and Charlie Jo. She was also very dear to her four siblings, Lorene Burke of Fordyce, Raymond Sexton of Conway, Gary Sexton of Camden, and Vickie Wallace of Bearden, as well as a host of nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held Friday, October 8th, 2021, from 3:00 pm to 3:30 pm at Mt. Tabor cemetery in Mt. Tabor, Arkansas and will be followed by graveside services at 3:30 pm with Ryan Morgan officiating.
