We just found out that some employees of the county tested positive for Covid. Because of this I am ordering the court house closed to outside individuals. I hate to do everything we can to stop the spread.
By the way, the people that have been infected that were vaccinated and sick with the Delta Variant are not nearly as sick as the people that are not vaccinated.
Between a clinic I know of that has become infected in Monroe to individuals that I know or have heard from, those that were vaccinated and are infected, symptoms are very light. The 2 from the county are minor cough, sore throat and a little fever. I heard on TV that hardly anyone who was vaccinated is in the hospital now. So the vaccine is doing its job. It may not stop you from being sick but you won't be sick.
I hear the vaccine is 85% to 95% effective and those odds, most people feel good about. So, wear a mask, wash your hands, social distance and GET YOUR VACCINATION. Lets kick covid out of Desha County and God Bless.
