The 7th Annual Chamber of Commerce Corn supper served approximately 1,100 meals at their annual fundraising event held at the Dumas Community Center Friday, July 9. 2021
The volunteers worked in all stages of food prep to cooking and wrapping corn, frying the chicken and corn nuggets, prepping and boxing salad, cutting watermelons, slice tomatoes and packaging all of the components of the meal together.
This is the second year for their take-out only meals, starting in 2020 when the Covid-19 virus started.
Judy Day, Dumas Chamber of Commerce director said the event was a great success.
“Thank you to all our sponsors and community help, we couldn't have done it without you,” Day said.
Volunteers included Dumas High Students who help package and deliver meals and others who helped prepare food, box, and package the meals.
