My name is Phyllis Stanford Mosley.
The cemetery located in Selma, Arkansas (Drew County) has been the burial site for members of many families for as far back as at least the 1800’s.
Pauline Barrett Ballard of Monticello set up a generous fund for the care of the cemetery years ago, and I believe provided the railing around the area. Upon her death Gwendolyn Haisty Stanford of Selma took on the responsibility of the cemetery’s care. Mom passed away in 2020.
The fund left by my aunt is still relatively healthy, and it needs to remain that way for the years to come. This fund is the only regular source of income that is necessary for upkeep, and I am asking for support concerning this special area. We have a business from Monticello that is doing a wonderful job with the care of the grass and such, but of course there are fees that come with that.
If you have ties with the Selma Cemetery in any way and would like to contribute to its upkeep, or if you have questions, please contact me by email; psmosley15@gmail.com.
A group named Selma Cemetery, Drew County has also been set up on Facebook if you would like to visit or join. Checks can be made out to SELMA CEMETERY FUND in care of Phyllis Mosley and sent to my address, 106 Grant 637, Sheridan AR 72150. A receipt will be sent to you.
Thank you in advance for your support in helping keep this very important part of the community of Selma beautiful!
