Charles Henry Fritsch Jr. 63 of Tillar, Arkansas passed away March 25, 2021. Charles was born Jan. 8, 1958 at Dermott, Arkansas. He was the youngest son born to Charles and Ardell Fritsch. He married Terry Lynn Hacker Boothe on Oct. 31, 2008. Their lives together spanned more than 12 years. He enjoyed Reading, Hunting, Fishing, Boating, and Talking.
Charles was a hard worker. He held various jobs since he was 13. He became the first Eagle Scout in Tillar and graduated at Tillar High School in 1976, Drove a school bus for the Tillar school at age 16, His ASVAB test scored 3rd highest in the state. He graduated UAM THETA XI with a degree in Geology, traveling all over the United States and spending months in Mexico sleeping in the desert, so when he got home, he slept on the floor for a while, because he wasn't used to sleeping in a bed. Studying rock formations, spelunking in caves. skydiving, scuba diving, water skiing, he walked the Grand Canyon and climbed mountains. Adventure was his nature. Race car driving and mechanics became a passion.
Charles worked at the Coca Cola Plant in Monticello for 10 years. And was an EMT, then went on to become a Registered Nurse, known as Dr Charlie, the nurse with the ponytail. Later, he attended Pine Bluff Truck Driving School acquiring his CDLs. driving eighteen wheeler and modular trucks. He worked for Desha County, about 6 years then became Landfill Supervisor about 9 years more. He then accepted the position of Mayor of Tillar on June 30, 2020.
Charles was a person that you could not forget. He loved people, leaving an impression on everyone he met. His many talents gathered up many resources. He and his wife, Terry, worshiped at McGehee Church of Christ.
Charles was preceded in death by his Father, Charles Henry Fritsch SR., his Mother, Guilla Ardell Bush Fritsch, One Brother, Sonny Vowell, and one sister, Bonnie McDonald. He leaves to cherish his memories, His wife, Terry Lynn Fritsch, Three daughters, Emerald Fritsch, of Dewitt, Arkansas, Estelle Fritsch, of Gillett, Arkansas, Ana Fritsch of Pine Bluff, Arkansas, one stepdaughter Joannie Holmes (Jamie, Sr.) of Oak Grove, Louisiana, three Stepsons, Alan Boothe, of Oak Grove, Louisiana, Daniel Boothe, of Tillar, Arkansas, Nickolas Boothe, of Tillar, Arkansas, one sister, Robyn Credo, of LaGrangeville, New York, six Grand Children and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Visitation and services held on March 29, 2021 at Griffin Funeral Home, visitation from 1 – 2 PM with services at 2 PM, Rickey Eppes officiating followed by burial in Tillar Cemetery, Tillar, Arkansas. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105-9959.
