James Summerford, 86 of Gould passed away Friday, March 19, 2021 at Jefferson Regional Med-ical Center in Pine Bluff. He was born June 11, 1934 at Persons Bridge (Lincoln County) to the late, Ben F. and Novie Robinson Summer-ford. He was a retired farmer, member of the First Baptist Church in Dumas and had been in the Arkansas National Guard.
James was also preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Ann “Hank” Summerford, a son, Dale Howard Summerford and a sister, Ginger Calloway.
Survivors include one son, Al Summerford (Kay Triplett) of Golden, Colorado, two daughters, Lou Ann Howard (Bill) of Little Rock, Teresa S. Willard (David) of West Monroe, La. And a brother, Charles Summerford (Martha) of Arkadelphia.
Other survivors include four grandchildren, Kyle Willard (Natalie), Nancy Summerford, Ben Summerford, Sarah Summerford (Eric) and four great grandchildren.
Visitation will be Friday, March 26, 2021 from 12:30 PM until funeral service time at 2:00 PM at the Griffin Funeral Chapel in Star City. Burial will be in Holly Springs Cemetery.
