STRESS DIET

BREAKFAST
1/2 grapefruit
1 slice wheat toast
8 oz milk
LUNCH
4 oz lean broiled
chicken breast
1 cup steamed zucchini
1 oreo cookie
Herb tea
MID-AFTERNOON SNACK
Ret of the packages of Oreos
1 quart Rocky Road ice cream
1 jar hot fudge
DINNER
2 loaves garlic bread
Large Pepperoni pizza
Large soda
2 Milky Way candy bars
Entire cheesecake eaten directly from the freezer
HEATH BAR CAKE
1 box German Chocolate cake mix (prepare according to directions, cool)
Makes 2 round layers
I large tub whipped topping
6 large Heath Bars, crushed
Ice bottom layer with whipped topping and sprinkle with half of the crushed Heath Bar. Add top layer, ice top and sides, sprinkle top and sides with remaining crushed Heath Bar. Cover and refrigerate.
CHICKEN with
RICE SOUP
1 cup diced onions
1 cup diced carrots
1 cup celery
2 Tbls olive oil
1 large can diced tomatoes
1/2 cup fresh parsley, chopped
2 boxes Swanson’s chicken broth
I whole chicken, boiled and deboned
Saute vegetables in olive oil. Add tomatoes, parsley, broth and chicken. Simmer for 30 minute. Add salt and pepper to taste
This recipe was passed on to me by a friends mother and was said to be the original Shack’s Bar B Que Sauce.
SHACK
BAR B QUE SAUCE
2 14 ounce bottles catsup
2 bottles water, (rinse catsup bottles out)
1/2 cup sugar
1 1/2 pints vinegar
1 small jar mustard
1 4ounce bottle garlic salt
1 small can black pepper (1 ounce)
1 bottle hot sauce (if you really want it hot)
Mix dry ingredients together. Add the rest. Bring to a rolling boil, simmer for 10 minutes.Cool and refrigerate.
BEEF AND
GREEN ONIONS
8 oz beef, cut in strips
4 oz green onions, sliced
4 tbls oil
MARINADE:
2 tbls soy sauce
1 tbls sherry
1 tbls cornstarch
1/2 tsp honey
Salt and pepper to taste
Cooked rice
Combine marinade ingredients; add beef strips for at least 20 minutes. Heat 1 tbls oil, sauté onions. Remove, add remaining oil until sizzling; add beef and toss for a few minutes. Add onions. Serve over rice.
GLAZED CARROTS
10 oz julienne sliced carrots
1/2 cup melted butter
2 tbls brown sugar
Juice of 1 orange
2 tsp lemon juice
1 tbls honey
1/2 tsp ginger
Place carrots in baking dish. Whisk sauce ingredients together; pour over carrots. Cover and bake at 325 for 30 minutes, tossing often.
