Letters were awarded to 23 members of the Dumas Bobcat football team at the annual grid banquet Monday night at Gill Gym, These boys will receive jackets with the emblem signifying the District 8A tri-championship which the Bobcats shared with Fordyce and Lake Village.
Dumas Band Parents will meet Thursday in the band room to select new uniforms for the Dumas High School Band.
Dumas’ crew of the Arkansas Power and Light Co. were honored for the civic service when the Dumas Chamber of Commerce me Tuesday night.
Raymond Turner, manager of A.P. & L office here; Hilton Graves, Floyd Graves, Ray Wilson and Paul Priest were guest of the chambers. They were commended for their service in erecting and taking down the Christmas decorations used by the city.
Entering through a hole in the roof, burglars rifled the safe at Meador Pharmacy Wednesday night January 6 and made off with nearly $5,000 in cash.
The state baton festival, sponsored by the Arkansas Band and Orchestra Association, will be held in Dumas Saturday, January 16.
About 400 twirlers, winners of either first or second ratings in the district festivals, are expected to compete in the state meet.
