Rudolph returned to Waterman Street in time for the Dumas Christmas Parade Wednesday, December 2. Dumas Firefighters Dennis Blankenship and Roy Dalton hung the newly repaired Rudolph using the fire department's ladder truck.
For those who are new to Rudolph, He is a Dumas Christmas tradition that dates back to the 1960's. He has been repaired twice due to being hit by a truck in recent years. The Dumas Clarion has been looking, but has not found the exact origin of when the beloved decoration was purchased and first displayed. However if anyone has information or would even like to share a memory of this beloved tradition, please feel free to share.
