The Nation's Weather for Friday, March 15, 2024
_____
NATIONAL SUMMARY
As a storm continues to advance toward the Gulf Coast
tomorrow, severe thunderstorms will be possible from central
Texas through much of the Southeast. Wind and hail are
expected to be the main threats from these storms, but a few
tornadoes cannot be completely ruled out. The thunder risk
should extend into the Ohio Valley, approaching the
Pennsylvania border from the south and west as more showery
precipitation crosses New England and the eastern Great
Lakes. Much of Florida will be dry under high pressure, with
dry conditions as well from the central and southern Plains
across all but the far northern parts of the Midwest, where
a spotty shower is expected instead. In the West, a
persistent disturbance will continue to produce rain and
snow across the Southwest, with dry weather otherwise.
