NATIONAL SUMMARY
As a sprawling, energetic disturbance continues to push
slowly to the south just off the California coast, showers
and even some thunderstorms are expected to break out from
the Central Valley southward to the central coast and
through San Francisco. Closer to the Los Angeles area,
steadier, heavy rain is likely, creating the potential for
flooding. Showers of rain and snow will extend from Northern
California across Nevada, Utah and even into southern
Montana. A separate storm farther east is expected to
produce snow across northern portions of Minnesota and
Wisconsin and most of the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.
However, rain will spread from lower Michigan toward the
mid-Atlantic coast, with the risk for thunder for Ohio and
West Virginia.
