Charles Fred “Fritz” Hudson, Jr., 92 of Dumas, Arkansas passed away February 7, 2022, in Dumas, Arkansas. Born August 8, 1929, in El Paso, Texas the son of the late Charles Fred and Emma Thedford White Hudson. His parents and sister Emma Jean Goodgame preceded him in death.
Mr. Hudson was a lifelong farmer and the owner of J & F, Inc. Farms. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church. He served as President of the Arkansas Wheat Association, He served as president of Arkansas Wheat Association, board member of Southern Farmers Association, head of Dumas Farmers Co-op and long-term board member of the Desha County Museum. He was a graduate of Dumas High School class of 1947 and the Mississippi State University class of 1951. Mr. Hudson was a Life Master of bridge, enjoyed playing tennis, and sang in the choir at First United Methodist Church. In the 1970s he looked forward to seeing his youngest daughter compete at the Tyro Saddle Club. Mr. Hudson served First Lieutenant in the Arkansas Army National Guard and was activated in 1957, serving as Battery Commander.
Survivors are his wife, Joy Hudson of Dumas, Arkansas and three daughters Donna Nelson and husband, Carl of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Hollis “Holly” Gaston and husband Robert of Austin Texas, and Adrienne “Adie” Willett and husband Bob of Timbo, Arkansas one brother Joseph Marion Hudson of Kansas City, Kansas, six wonderful grandchildren: Hudson, Baxter, Leah, Rebecca, Carter and Brett, and one special cat Dusty.
A Memorial service will be held on Friday, February 11, 2022, at 2:30 p.m. at First United Methodist Church in Dumas with Dr. Tandy Hanson officiating.
The family would like to extend their appreciation to the staff and administration at Dalton's Place and the staff at Delta Memorial Hospital for the wonderful and compassionate care they gave our loved one.
