Laverne Hughes Denver 84 of Watson passed away December 3, 2021, in Watson. She was born February 24, 1937, in Wynne, AR to a loving family of the late Carrol Ray and Annie Lou Derry Hughes. Laverne was a member of Watson Assembly of God Church, secretary for the City of Watson for many years, and a member of Watson Chamber of Commerce.
She was survived by her husband Charles Denver, one son Wallace (Wally) Godfrey of Mt. View, MO, two daughters Kerry Lilly (Jake) of Mt. View, MO, Lynda Dowell (Mike) of Payneville, KY, one stepdaughter Sunni Throgmorton (Tom) of Maumelle, AR, two half-sisters Loraine Elliott of Tillatobia, MS, Margie Hughes of Elliott, MS, eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Tuesday, December 7, 2021, from 1:00pm to 2:00pm, service to follow at 2:00pm both at Watson Assemble of God Church with Rev. Harold Cantley and Roger Pierce officiating with burial at Watson Cemetery.
