It is with a grateful and heavy heart that we, the Weaver family, honor the earthly life of the cornerstone of our family, Barbara Diane Weaver of Dumas, Arkansas. Barbara joined our Heavenly Father on the evening of August 20th, 2023, she was prepared and excited for this day.
Barbara was a devout Christian, an amazing wife of 52 years to Stanley, a sincere and nurturing mother to Jeffrey (Aimee) and Nicholas (Bianca), and a loving grandmother to Lauren, Ella, and Daniel. In her 70 years of life, she created a beautiful family with Stanley that has surrounded them with unconditional love, impacted numerous lives through her career as a social worker, and poured kindness into her community. She was the true epitome of a wife, mother, ‘Nanny’, and friend.
Barbara always had a way of bringing people together. She loved spending time with her family from cooking to cheering on the Razorbacks and being with ‘the girls’, she never missed a moment with the ones she loved.
She was a social worker to the core. Jeff convinced her to start college at the age of 47 and she attended the University of Arkansas at Monticello with Nicholas. She finished her bachelor’s of science degree in Social Work in 2004 then immediately started work on a master’s degree in Social Work at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. At UAM she graduated Summa Cum Laude and was a member of the Alpha Chi honor society.
Her career consisted of writing a $2,000,000 grant for the City of Dumas to build the Family Investment Center for underprivileged children. Upon finishing graduate school Barbara worked as a social worker at Delta Counseling, Mainline, and St. Vincent in Little Rock.
She is preceded in death by her father, Gerald “Shorty” Isaacs and brother Donald Isaacs, both of California.
She is survived by her husband Stanley Weaver and their sons Jeffrey Weaver, his wife Aimee of Monticello, and Nicholas Weaver, his wife Bianca of Gould, her mother Donna Issacs of Hot Springs, her brothers Wayne Isaacs, his wife Billie of Grady and Rodney Issacs of Hot Springs, two granddaughters Lauren Weaver of Bentonville and Ella Weaver of Monticello, grandson Daniel Cuthbertson of Pine Bluff and the many more hearts she touched.
The family asks that donations be sent to the University of Arkansas at Monticello Foundation Fund to honor the legacy of Barbara Weaver. The proceeds will benefit future social workers in Southeast Arkansas. P.O. Box 3520, Monticello, Arkansas 71656.
Please join us in celebrating the life of our wife, mother, and ‘Nanny’, Barbara Weaver.
