Ralph W. Oates, Jr., affectionately known as "The Ball." was born on June 2l, 1940, in Drew County, Winchester, Arkansas to the late Ralph A.. Oates, Sr. and Rosetta Merrill Lee Oates. He accepted Christ at an early age, a decision that shaped his life of faith and service.
