The Dumas Police Department was called to a shooting on the 400 block of North Rankin Street, at approximately 4:26 p.m..
The victim, Floyd Evans Jr., 39 year old Black male, of Dumas, AR, was transported to a local hospital where he reportedly died of his injuries.
The suspect, Roy Owens Jr., 19 year old Black male was apprehended by officers of the Dumas Police Department and Desha County Sheriff's Office. Owens was booked into the Dumas City Jail where he is awaiting a First Appearance for Murder in the Second Degree.
