Does Dumas have what it takes to be a City of INnovation? Some say YES! If so, who is leading the way? Who’s got talent to create a business, an enterprise, an expansion? Who’s ready to take the dare to bring something new to Dumas? Who’s advancing the youth opportunities in our schools? What about new career opportunities and pathways for students of all ages?
INnovation Day 2022 is set for Thursday, October 13 from 12noon to 6pm at The Legacy Center in West Dumas located at 501 W. Bowles. The AR Department of Workforce Services are bringing in staff and their Mobile Workforce Center Bus Unit. Multiple colleges have signed on to recruit and begin enrolling, companies and members of the Dumas Chamber of Commerce have been invited to come out and share about their business and opportunities. One out of town company, West Fraser is offering a pathway to good-paying jobs when applicants work with AR Department of Workforce Services and The College of Aspiring Artists.
“This Mobile Workforce Center is a first for our INnovation Day. The Mobile Bus is a big deal to have in the city. The leaders from the Arkansas Department of Workforce Services have been on our radio show and are talking about the many benefits and opportunities that they will be bringing. The Mobile Workforce Center has full internet connectivity and is equipped with computers, printers, copiers, and helpful staff. All of the Mobile Workforce Centers include a computer with access to Jobs Application With Speech (JAWS) software, and most mobile units are handicapped accessible. We will see people’s lives changing and new beginnings as well.
We welcome Ms. ShaVonda Brown who brings one of the most uplifting testimonies on how to overcome from setbacks. She’s a Recruiter with CASA.
