On Tuesday morning, May 17th, 2022 at 10:30 am CST at Dumas High School at the 2022 Nonviolent Youth Summit in Dumas, Arkansas will be America's Social Historian, author of Arkansas' first Tuskegee Airmen History Textbook, and Assistant Professor of History who was featured on NBC's TV MINISERIES BLUFF CITY LAW, Edmond Davis. Davis is the Host & Producer of 'KEEPING IT 100 WITH DORI.' KEEPING IT 100 is believed to be the only U.S. weekly radio show created specifically to seek solutions to the 1# killer of Black males ages 1 to 44 in the U.S., HOMICIDES. Davis is Director of the Derek Olivier Research Institute (DORI) for the Prevention of Gun Violence at Arkansas Baptist College (ABC). ABC is the only coed higher education institution in America with a collegiate demographic of 78% Black male student population. Davis will engage middle and high schoolers with the RESPOND-I-BILITY. These sessions demonstrate to the youth and young adults on Conflict Resolution tips.
Over 50 days ago Dumas was traumatized by the pain, and suffering from then, the nation's largest mass shooting (that title was taken by Buffalo, New York a few days ago). Some residents are still processing the realities of that day, yet RESPOND-I-BILITY is a coping strategy on the way. The event's keynote speaker will be the global star of Independence Day and Set It Off, Actress, Producer, TV Host, and Keynote Speaker Vivica A. Fox.
Professor Davis attempts to enhance their emotional IQ with improved decision-making at the 2022 Nonviolence Youth Summit. We hope that everyone can experience these events as the are poised to impact youth groups civilly and responsibly. See you tomorrow as 'Edutainment' come to Dumas!
