Bobcat senior center Kavion Beavers did an incredible job battling against 6-7, 6-4 Osceola post men. He gave them all they wanted, blocking shots, pulling down rebounds. He was a force in the middle.
“He's been with me for three years,” said Dumas Head Basketball Coach Larry Harris. “He knows the in's and outs, he's been to three State Tournaments, he's been to a semi-finals already. So he's been in three Regional Championship. He has a lot of experience.”
“Kavion is very athletic for his size. He's use to defending bigger people the majority of his life,” said Coach. “If you look at last couple years, he defended a guy about 6-4 about 280 or so out of Lake Village. Last year he defended a kid who was 6-6, then he also defended the 6-9 kid from Drew Central. He has a low center of gravity, he's strong, he's a football player. He knew how to position his body to block out and he can jump.”
“We're going to miss him tremendously because he was the leader on defense, he was the man in the middle, got rebounds, blocked shots. He did all the dirty work.” said Coach. “He'll be greatly missed.”
