The Desha County Museum honored board member Pat Clark with a certificate of achievement for 48 years of volunteering at the Museum. The Museum presented Clark with a Certificate of Achievement at a dinner on January 12, 2026. Clark and group members, who were members of the Dumas Optimist Club, worked on and off for about two years helping to build the museum's main building. The museum opened on July 29, 1979.

Serendipity Auction marks 43 years

The Desha County Museum and the Dumas Chamber of Commerce will hold their 43rd Serendipity Dinner/Auction at the Dumas Community Center on Monday, October 27.
The Silent Auction will be held from 6:00-6:45 pm. Dinner will be served at 6:30 pm and the Live auction will begin at 7:15 pm.

Michael Jones to present program on Snow Lake Community at Desha County Museum

Michael Jones, a former Dumas resident and President of Merchants and Farmers Bank, will present a program on Snow Lake (an unincorporated community in Desha County) on Sunday, November 10, 2024 at the Desha County Museum. Michael's family was from Snow Lake and he spent many days with his grandparents, the Britt family.
