On 12 April 2022, Desha County Sheriff’s Office, 10th Judicial District, Monticello PD, Monticello PD K-9 Cezar, and McGehee PD executed 2 narcotics search warrants in McGehee.
The 1st search warrant was executed at 409 Church Street. There, investigators located inside the residence Jesse Barnes Sr. AKA “Tweety Bird”, whom DCSO had an arrest warrant for Delivery of Methamphetamine and 3 other individuals. During the search 9 plastic baggies of methamphetamine and other drug paraphernalia used to ingest and pack of illegal narcotics for distribution was seized. Barnes was arrested and transported to McGehee City Jail and is likely to be charged with Delivery of Controlled Substance (methamphetamine), Possession with Purpose to Deliver Methamphetamine, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Unlawful Use of Another’s Property to Facilitate a Crime. He is awaiting a 1st judicial appearance.
The 2nd search warrant was executed at 501 South 4th Street Apt B. After making entry inside the residence investigators located Christopher “Dru” Lee who had an active warrant for delivery of methamphetamine. During the course of the search law enforcement located and seized approximately ½ ounce of ice methamphetamine, approximately ¼ pound of marijuana, a loaded firearm and other drug paraphernalia used to package illegal narcotics for distribution. Lee was placed under arrest and transported to McGehee City Jail where he is awaiting a 1st judicial appearance. He is likely to be charged with Delivery of Methamphetamine, Possession of Methamphetamine with Purpose to Deliver, Possession of Marijuana with Purpose to Deliver, Possession of a Firearm by Certain Persons, and Unlawful Use of Another’s Property to Facilitate a Crime.
On Thursday April 7th, 2022, Deputy Clarence McTigrit took reports of stolen catalytic converters from different places throughout the county. Deputy Carroll Sirmon was information that location of couple of the stolen catalytic converters. Deputy Sirmon, Deputy Ronnie Bearden and Chief Deputy Roland Brown went to the residence where the suspects were believed to be staying and observed, in plain view, as they walked up to the front door one of the residence 2 of the stolen catalytic converters inside a stack of tires. As deputies gained consent to enter the residence Jerry Pamplin exited through the back door but was apprehended by Deputy Bearden. Investigators located Aaron Pamplin hiding underneath his bed and he was taken into custody. After being advised of their Miranda Rights they both gave self-incriminating statements but only admitted to disposing of 4 catalytic converters. They are awaiting 1st appearance in McGehee City Jail for theft of property.
