The Compassionate Friends Worldwide Candle Lighting for second, Sunday, December 11, will unite families and friends around the globe in lighting candles for one hour to honor the memories of the sons, daughters, brothers, sisters, and grandchildren who left too soon. As candles are lit at 7:00 pm local time, hundreds of thousands of people commemorate and honor the memory of all children gone too soon.
The Desha County Chapter of Compassion-ate Friends Candle Lighting Program will be held Sunday, December 11, by Conference Call. Families and friends are invited to participate. The call line will open at 6:15 p,m. A program of readings, poems, and songs will start at 6:30 p.m. followed by the lighting of candles at 7 pm. Those participating in the candle lighting ceremony, will need a candle. For questions about the event and conference number, contact Brenda Norman 870-382-4375.
The National Compassionate Friends will also offer a Virtual Worldwide Candle Lighting December 11, starting at 6:45 pm in each time zone. To attend this Candle lighting you will need to go to www.compassionatefriends.org/wcl/ to register.
The Remembrance Book which will be available during the Candle lighting at The Compassionate Friends national website, will open Thursday, December 1, through Friday, December 16 to post a message. Photos can be posted on the Worldwide Candle Lighting Facebook page.
