In the midst of this world of unknown where disease has changed the scope of what we have known as normal, when heads, hearts and hands have sought to save, another evil has arisen among us causing an obvious division of heads, hearts and hands of people across the world.
It has been asked, “Why aren't we doing something here?” As appointed Leaders, God called and people accepted, we have the responsibility to address issues and advise concerns that arise in our culture and communities.
It has been proven already that protests and arrests are not the answer; protests have not changed the behavior of law enforcement, arrests will not relieve the hurt and anger of those affected; looting and rioting only adds to the confusion, misunderstanding, misrepresentation and purpose of what is intended and makes obvious some of the characterizations being accused.
So what can be done? In the book of Matt. (19:16-26), a parable is given and at the end of it the question is asked, “Who can be saved?” It is apparent that a discussion has taken place and the inquiring individuals are left without a satisfactory answer. It is hidden in the hearts of those of us who care enough to respond with consideration t the requirements needed to bring about change.
It is also hinged upon the response of those who suppose to represent the entire society. Note: the parable states in verse 22, the young man went away sorrowful; this suggests that though he came seeking he was not will to accept that which was established in fairness to all; are you?
Again, protests and arrests are not the answer. Rioting and looting is no solution. Communication among leaders, negotiations, meditations and mediation must come and they are just the beginning.
Faith has to open the door.
Patience must come to the table.
Meekness must hold out hands; Temperance must guard our tongues; Dignity and Respect should continually parade the room, making sure they are seen;
While Simple LOVE for humanity invades the whole assembly.
It is our desire to have peace, equality, respect, dignity and all that which is due every human. Acts 17:24a, 26a reads: God that made the world and all things therein, … hath made of one blood all nations of man to dwell on all the face of the earth; 28a for in HIM we live move and have our being.
The evil of time has done much to segregate humanity, but I hear a voice declaring: God commended His Love toward us that while we (all) were yet sinners, CHRIST died for us (all).
