Dumas School District Employees received their dose of the Moderna Covid-19 vaccine clinic at the Dumas Jr. High Auditorium Thursday, ,January 28, 2021.
DSD staff from the Dumas High School, Dumas Jr. High School Reed Elementary, Central Elementary, and the District arrived 10 people at a time every 20 minutes with very little wait time. Each participant filled out a consent form and provided a copy of filled out a consent form and provided a copy of their driver's license and insurance card.
Four tables lined the Jr. High Auditorium with a check in table and three table for participants to receive the shot. The check in table manned by Central Elementary Nurse Angela Nicholson and Dumas Family Pharmacy Technician Marbella Rodriquez handed out forms; took information; and handed out timers.
Cheryl Stimson, of the Dumas Family Pharmacy, DSD Nurse Candace Wilson (Check first name), Reed Elementary Nurse Isierene Spinks, and Delta Memorial Nurse Practitioner Trisha Blair distributed the shots to estimated 100 school employees.
Wilson thanked the Pharmacy for coming to the District to vaccinate the staff.

This is the second Phase of the Covid-19 Vaccine with Phase 1A distributed to first Responders, volunteer fire fighters, police officers, and medical personnel on January 5.
Stimson said that many people are worried about being allergic to the shot, but the COVID vaccine does not contain the ingredients such as eggs or latex often contained in the flu shot. She asks to everyone to please be patient and there will be more vaccines available over time. It will take 6-8 weeks to distribute vaccines to the Phase 1B group that includes School staff and People 70 years old and up.
“There is a shortage because there are a lot of people,” Stimson said. “ It is very important that people get the vaccine. It is one of the first steps to getting back to normal. If people ask me for my opinion whether
