Arthur Richard “Dick” Powell, 85 of Watson, Arkansas passed away January 27, 2022, in Dumas, Arkansas. Born April 17, 1936, in Maulden, Arkansas the son of the late Arthur Jim and Mamie A. Golden Powell. His wife Frances Powell, eight sisters and three brothers preceded him in death.
Mr. Powell was a member of Watson Assembly of God Church and was employed thirty plus years for Wells-Lamont in McGehee, Arkansas. Dick never met a stranger, if he met you once he knew you from then on, had a wonderful sense of humor, just ask the six pretty ladies serving as honorary pallbearers. He was a daughter’s daddy.
Survivors are three daughters, Debbie and husband Buddy Worring of Humphries, Arkansas, Ann and husband Denny Babb of Hughes, Arkansas and Angie and husband Terry Fortenberry of Watson, Arkansas and on special daughter Alexis Powell of Carthage, North Carolina, one sister Johnnie Grider of Dumas, Arkansas, five grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.
Visitation and services both held on Saturday at Watson Assembly of God Church, visitation from 3-3:30 Pm with funeral at 3:30 PM with Rev. Roger Pierce officiating and burial following in Watson Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Watson Assembly of God Church.
