Desha County Sheriff guest speaker at Arkansas Law Enforcement Training Academy graduation

Desha County Sheriff Mitch Grant received the honor of being guest speaker at the Arkansas Law Enforcement Training Academy in East Camden graduation ceremony August 1, 2025.
Sixty-five officers were sworn in after completing their law enforcement training.

Train derailment closes road near Crooked Bayou, no injuries or spills

A train derailment closed the Highway 4 near Crooked Bayou Thursday, June 26, 2025.
The wheels of a boxcar went off the track making the train unable to move. The derailment caused no cargo spills or injuries.
