The Desha County Preferential Primary Election will be held on Tuesday, March 3.2026. Polls open at 7:30 a.m. and close at 7:30 p.m.
Early Voting will be held at the Desha County Courthouse, 608 Robert S. Moore Ave. Arkansas City, AR 71630: in Arkansas City February 17th- March 2nd between the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, and 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday and 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 pm Monday March 2, 2026, the day before the election.
Offsite early voting will be held at the Dumas Com-munity Center and the McGehee Municipal Com-plex on the following dates:
Thursday, February 26, 2026, from 8:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
Friday, February 27, 2026, from 8:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
Saturday February 28, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Absentee Processing and Canvassing will begin at 9:00 a.m. at the Desha County Courthouse on March 3, 2026.
Provisional ballots will be canvassed and tabulated at 12 Noon, Monday March 9, 2026 at the Desha County Courthouse. 11:30 March 9, 2026 is the deadline to submit an ID to the County Clerk’s Office for provisional ballots.

DUMAS SCHOOL MILLAGE (NO CHANGE)
To provide for the forgoing proposed budget of expenditures, the board of directors proposes a total tax rate (state and local) of 42 mills on the dollar of the assessed value of taxable property located in this school district. The proposed tax includes the unform rate of tax (state 'uniform rate") to be collected on all taxable property in the state remitted to the state treasurer pursuant to the amendment number 74 to the Arkansas Constitution to be used solely for maintenance and operations of schools in the state as provided in amendment number 74, the state wide uniform rate replaces a portion of the existing rate of tax levied by the school district and available for maintenance and operations of schools in this district. The total proposed school tax levy of 42 mills includes 28 for General and Maintenance and operation and 14 mills for debt service previously voted as a continuing levy pledge for the retirement of existing bonded indebtedness. The surplus revenue produced each year by the debt service millage may be used by the district for other school purposes. The proposed tax includes the uniform rate of tax(state uniform rate") to be collected on all taxable property in the state remitted to the state treasurer pursuant to the amendment number 74 of the Arkansas Constitution to be used solely for maintenance and operations of schools in the state as provided in amendment number 74, the state wide uniform rate replaces a portion of the existing rate of tax levied by the school district and available for maintenance and operations of schools in this district. The total proposed school tax levy of 41.81 mills includes 25 for General and Maintenance and Operation and 16.81 mills of debt service previously voted as a continuing levy pledge for the retirement of existing bonded indebtedness. The surplus revenue produced each year by the debt service millage may be used by the district for other school purposes. MARVELL SCHOOL MILLAGE: (NO CHANGE)
The total rate proposed includes the uniform rate of Tax 25.00 mills (the Statewide Uniform Rate) to be collected on all taxable property in the state and remitted to the State Treasurer pursuant to amendment No.
74 to the Arkansas Constitution to be used solely for maintenance and operation of schools in the state as provided in Amendment No. 74, the Statewide Uniform Rate replaces a portion of the existing rate of tax levied by this School district and available for maintenance and operation of schools in this District. The total proposed school tax levy of 33.00 mills includes 25.00 mills specifically voted for general maintenance and operation and 8.00 mills voted for debt service previously voted as a continuing levy pledged for the retirement of existing bonded indebtedness. The surplus revenues produced each year by the debt service millage may be used by the district for other school purposes.
The total proposed school tax levy of 33.00 mills represents the same rate presently being collected.

Objections concerning any election official, poll workers, extra help, or other complaints may be submitted to the Desha County Election Commissioners or to the SBEC. Objections must be made within seven calendar days after posting. VIEWING YOUR BALLOT PRIOR TO VOTING:
Any voter may look up their sample ballot on the Secretary of State’s website at: http://www.voterview.ar-nova.org/voter view. Ballots will be available no later than 20 days prior to the election. Sample Ballots will be available at the polling sites.
